It is a special occasion most of the time when this event takes place. Well, something new has been happening in Durham Region the past few months when it cornes to dining out, and that somnething different is Sunday Brunch. Several restaurants in the Whitby area have been of- fering this speciai for several months now, and report that they have been very busy with the brunch bit. In Whitby, for example the Earl of Durham offers a Sunday Brunch at special prices. You can have single servings or an order for four people at $13.95. This can consist of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and ahl the coffee you can drink. Sun- day Brunch k i served each week from 12 noon until 3 p. M. Another Whitby restaurant that has been featuring the Sunday Brun- ch and doing very well from Street, North. Here you have a nice salad bar, a choice of hot or cold meats, and ail at very reasonable prices. The Magié Car on King Street, West, Oshawa bas also been featuring a Sunday noon special for some time. They also offer something a littie different that has made magician wanders about among the tables during the dinner hour and performs tricks for the ebjîdren, and induces them to get into the act. From ail reports, they love it and the parents enjoy it too. Here again there is a choice. They have a soup bar, bread bar, cheese and salad bar. Also at the Sun- advertises that littie people under 12 can dine for just 99 cents. Since the Sunday Brunch has become popular with people who like to step out Sunday mornings or people on the way home fromn chur- ch, you can bet more of them will soon be featuring the same. For a short time the Coach House is featuring a special on Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday evenings for the din- ner hour. Tuesday it is New York 8 oz. sirloin at $8.95, regular $10.25. On Wed- nesday it is Surf 'n Turf for $14.95 instead of the usual $16.95. Sunday you can have spare ribs for only $6.95 as compared to the regular $850. The Coach House honours ail major credit cards and there is ample free parking. They open every day but Monday.
