Whether he's the errand boy or the bell boy, the nutty professor or the delicate Unemployed circus clown Jerry Lewis (above), gets work as a Japanese chef in his latest film "Hardly Working." But in this job, Lewis proves once and for ail that "once a clown, always a clown." delinquent, Lewis is always the unconventional man at- tempting to adapt to a con- ventional world but somehow turning everything around him into a mad, chaotic shambles. ~V ~oIn "Hardly Working" Jerry has a field day as Bo Hooper, a free-spirited cir- cus clown who finds himself unemployed at middle age when the circus closes down. Determined to stay off the dole, Bo bumbles his way through job after job, from service station attendant to disco dancer. He's like a bull in a china shop at City Glass Company and an ex- clusive curio shop. His work as a Japanese chef is about as destructive as his brief stint as a bartender. Finally, in one last bout with the working world, Bo gets a job as a mailman. Ramn, sleet, snow and hail have neyer stopped the mail. Bo, bowever, managed to fouI things up in perfect weather, proving that once a clown, always a clown.
