ART TRACK '81 The Whitby Arts Station will present an exhibition of work done by pupils of Whit- by Public Schools from April 4 to 19. BETTER BREATHING COURSE Do you suffer from em- physema, chronic bronchitis or severe asthma? If the an- swer is "yes", then Durham Region Lung Association may be able to help. Beginning on Tuesday, March 24, the local Christ- mas Seal Association will run a better breathing cour- se for adults with respiratory disease, at Albert Street United Church, Oshawa. Offered free of charge as a Christmas Seal Service, it will run for eight consecutive sessions during a four-week period, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 to 9 p.m. Course members will be taught breathing exercises, relaxation techniques and simple tolerance exercises, and most sessions will feature guest speakers on various topies related to the management of respiratory disease. All exercise procedures will be under the direction of two qualified lung association staff. This is a basic program, which aims to provide respiratory patients with an introduction to simple self-help techniques which, when ap- plied, can improve the quality of day-to-day living. SPRING BREAK PROGRAMS The Whitby Public Library will present a series of programs for the spring break, March 23 to 27 begin- ning each day at 2 p.m. On March 23, the animated Beatles' film, "The Yellow Submarine" will be shown. On March 24, Andrea Haddad will perform a variety of traditional French music on several different instruments. March 25 there will be an hour of fun and games. March 26 will feature San- dy Byers who will introduce children to the world of Nor- th American folk music. The film, "The Man from Nowhere," a full-length mystery for children will be shown. DANCE The Whitby Iroquois Swim Club will be holding their spring fund raising dance at the Heydenshore Pavilion April 25. CONCERT The Henry Street High School music department will present a concert on Friday, April 10 beginning at 8p.m. Featured in the concert wil! be the LaChine High School Band from Montreal, Quebec. The Henry Street Concert Band and a special brass group will also per- form. The commentator for the shows will be Tom Gibney. Tickets are $3 for adults and $1 for senior citizens and children under 12.
