The styles of our artists are all different but they share one thing in common -- character and appeal. All of the themes treated in our paintings are borrowed from Mother Nature. We offer a collection of wild flowers of the world, rare and exotic flowers and plants, mushrooms, and of course landscape studies. Our designs are so unique and origianal that it is very hard not to find some designs that would not ap- peal to the most critical eye. Our designs are simple and yet crisp and easily iden- tified and appreciated as an decorating idea original painting. Colour combination and appeal, movements and co- ordination of designs with the shapes of the woodwork all contribute to make each painted item a crystallization of art and craft. What crowns it all is our designs have almost an universal appeal because of our styles and the themes treated. On a less serious note, we also offer a collection of hand-painted spooncraft. Each spoon carries a catchy message such as "Count Your Calories", )"What's Cooking Now?", "Just Hang On There" etc. together with a simple painted design to co-ordinate with the message. The messages on this hand-painted spooncraft collection are as diversified as the designs themselves. No wonder it is such a popular and sought-after item to decorate and liven up your kitchen. Tax tips for todays travelling businessman This is the third in a series of articles about preparing federal income tax returns. The articles are written by H & R Block Canada, Inc., Canada's largest tax ser- vice. Legitimate expense deductions on income tax returns are often overlooked or ignored by travelling businessman and outside salesmen (those who do their selling away from their employer's place of business). There are two reasons for t!is. First, the businessman is just not aware of all the ex penses he may legally claim and, second, many just don't bother to keep adequate records to sub- stantiate claims. The result may . be an overpayment of income taxes - year after year - which can add up to a sizeable sum of money. The Dpeartment of National Revenue will not allow a business expense to be deducted unless it can be substantiated by some record or receipt. A travelling salesman should, therefore, always keep a diary showing the dates of trips, where he went, whom he saw, and the purpose. The information establishes that the expenses were in- curred for valid business reasons. Some of the most com- monly overlooked business expenses are for parking meters, telephone calls, local transportation while travelling, and membership dues in professional clubs and organizations.
