Summer teen program Whitby teen-agers have of ten sald there is nothing to do around town during the summer, so the Durham Region YMCA lias set up a special program for themn this year. Under the direction of the Green Pepper Club, the program for ages il to 18 wiIl be called "Summer of Fun '79". It starts July 1 and concludes August 24, with a variety of programs throughout the town every week. Events include swimming, crafts, a beach party, horror movies,and a variety show. There is no paid registration in advance, but a-small fee will be charged at a number of facilities where applicable to cover rental costs. The Summer Fun'79 program is under the direction of Ross Parsons, a sports administration student from Durham College, and Carol McLean a psychology student from the University of Toronto.
