The Ministry of Transportation and Communications is expanding the intersection so there will be proper turning lanes, as part of its ongoing project of reconstructing Brock Street through Whitby. Afternoon Guî*ld meets The May meeting of the Afternoon Guild of Al Saints' Anglican Cburch was held in the parish hall on May 8 witb 18 mfembers, present. A short business meeting was held after opening prayers. Plans were dis- cussed for a pot luck lunch- eon on June 12 at 12:30 p.m. in the Parisb Hall. The president, Mrs. Myrtle, Conrad, introduced the guest speaker, Mrs. J'udith Edmondson, who is a member of the Whitby -Theatre Company and Oshawa Little Theatre. Mrs. Edmondson spoke on the Whitby Theatre Company, 'telling members about its activities from its býginin to the present.k Mrs. Else Cuddy thanked the speaker for making everyone more aware of Whitby's little theatre. Stanley Isherwood, who will take over the church oÃ"n June 3. The church has been with- out a minister since Rev. Raymond Carder left at the end of December 1978.. Mr. Isherwood holds an Honors Degree in Psycho- logy from Dalhousie Univer- sity, and obtained his Bache- lor of Theology degree from Wycliffe College in 1968. H1e has a teaching certif icate from the University of Mani- toba, and is also a trained Cbartered Accountant. 11e has been involved with the Company of the Cross and their boys' schools for more than a decade. He was assistant priest at Trinity East in Toronto for two years. Mr. Isherwood is married and he and his wife Jane have one son, Stephen who will soon be a year old. Farmer 's livestock are stolen The Wbitby Division of the Durham Regional Police Force patrol the Town of Whitby, Brooklin and the countryside as far north as Mount Albert, and east to the former East Whitby Town- ship north of Oshawa. In this area a farmer bas reported some livestock has gone missing, police said. John Slute of Lot"4 Con- cession 9, R.R. #1 Oshawa, missed a black bull caîf with a white face'on May 2 and 3, from the field. .- About a week later Mr. Slute was patrolling bis farm wben be noticed a four- wheeled vebicle in his field, police said.
