The family bas' the choice of presenting it to a priest or to send it to a mission of their choice. A. guard of honor for the mass was formed by the 4th Degree Knights of Colum- bus. - Father Anthony Meagher of St. John the Evangelist Church conduc- ted the service. About 100 people, including 46 members of the O'Connor family were present. Morgan O'Connor was very much involved in Catholic education in Whitby and served on the Whitby, Ontario County and Durham Region Separate School Boards fromn 1963 to 1976. In 1977, Mr. O'Connor was presented with the Award of Menit by the Ontario Separ- *ate School Trustees Associa- *tion, and also received the Queen's Silver Jubilee Medal. He was a 30-year' member of the Knights of Columbus and had been. a 4th Degree Knight for 15 years prior to his death. He served -as District Warden 'n 1963-64. Mr. O'Connor ' hved in Maplehurst Farm, on the third concession near the ,Whitby-Aja-x border. o . Police said the door could have been left open by'some- one working in the building at the time.
