You may have noticed elsewhere in this newspaper that the Board of Management for the downtownredevelopment area passed a resolution to apply for funding from the Ministry of Housing for capital development in the downtown area. Hooray! I think that after so many years of talking and............. planning, that somnething is finally happening in the downtown............ i:...... While there has definately been a new impetus towards '" . ' improvement downtown, the physical plan is now there. As far M. as I'm concerned,,this is a major sepiniti igh diecton The Council and Mayor have repeatedly told the. downtown " people to let themn know what we want. Well, now they know, at ieast as far as the plan goes at this stage. We also want the adoption of the revised secondary plan, which spelîs out in detail things that can be done to improve the downtown area. I don't know how rnuch plainer we can put it. And I must say that we appreciate the advice and support of Councillor BarryX Evans in this quest for redevelopment.
