Ferrco recorded its fifth win in six starts and remains in a tic with the Oshawa Falcons for top spot in the league. Earl Hand did a fine job in goal for - WHitby, coming up with some good saves. Ferrco will be home to West Shore on July 10 at 8 p.m. and then will play Ajax JuIy 17 in Ajax at 7 p.m. PEE WEE June 27 at Peel Park Longmuir Builders shut out Cobourg by an astounding 10-0 score, Goals were scored by Tom Seheeffer, Robert Longmuir, Fred D'Andrea, Carmel Scaffidi, Ed Svetek and John Schell. Goalten der Bobby Sherman got the shutout in a game which was called approx- imately 15 minutes early at the request of the Cobourg coach. Longmuir Builders are still unbeaten in league play and remain in top spot tied with Oshawa Rangers. JUNIOR June 25 at Humbergorve Collegiate in Rexdale, Fei rco Engineering of Whitby defeated the Rexdale Royals 4-1 with goals by Ken Beattie, Garvin Clarke, Keith Wilson, (penalty kick) and Kerry Lang, Ferrco got bye through the preliminary round and Rexdalc won 5-1 in its pre- liminary round. Whitby, apart from a short lapse at" the start of the second haîf, were in com- plete control of the gameý. PEE WEE June 24 at Peel Park, the Whitby Longmuir Builders edged Guildwood 3-2 with goals by Robert Longmuir, Fred D'Andrea and Ed Svetek. It was a good even garne with Whitby taking an -early 2-0 lead and Guildwood fight- ing back to tic things ulp before haif time. It was a real end-to-end battle in the second haif with the victor in doubt until Ed Svetek headed in the winner 10 minutes from the final Whistle. BANTAM In a close game, June 24 at Peel Park, Downsview defeated. Carretto Rest- aurant and Tavern of Whitby 2-1 and eliminated them from the tournament. Warren Subject got the only Whitby goal. Wintario grants set Two Whitby organizations will be receiving Wintario grants this month. The Whitby Public Library wilI receive a grant of $7,750- to assist with the purchase of banners and graphics for their recently renovated building, A grant of $7,650 will be used by the Whitby Corne Sail Junior Program to aid in the purchase of sailing equipment.
