Born at St. Thomas, Ontario, his entire career has been with General Motors at its Diesel Division at London, Ontario and at Oshawa. Early, assignments at London were in public relations,advertising and sales promotion work. In January, 1960, he. was pro- moted to A dve rtising Manager He was appointed Manager of Public Relations and Adver- tising in ,March, 1962. Mr. Chesney transferred to the P'ublic Relations staff at Oshawa in October, 1973. While at London, Mr. Chesney took a leadership role in United Way campaignis.
