Mrs. Kay Byk, co-ordina- tor of the Senior Citizens' Activity Centre at Brock and Pitt Streets, says the early advance registration is requir- cd to allow those in charge to confirni the number of people who will take part in the various programs. Registration is from 10 a.n. to 12:30 p.m. at the activity centre, Saturday. Lunch may be purchased, and seniors are advised to be prepared to pay for the various events when they sign up. An extensive program is set up for Senior Citizens' Week, but events are spaced out so as not to provide too heavy a schedule. The following is a concise program of the events for Senior Citizens' Week: Sunday, June 19: 1l a.m. -- Seniors' non- denominational church service, provided by the Whitby Ministerial Associa- tion. Contact the activity centre at 668-1424 for location. 1:30 p.m. -- Official opening of Senior Citizens' Week at the activity centre by town representatives, followed by an afternoon of entertain- ment, old-fashioned sing- song and tea. Monday, June 20: 10:30 a.m. -- Be at the activity centre for bus trip to Centre Island in Toronto. The trip includes a harbor boat tour, lunch at Brau Haus Restaurant,. and a stroll through the parks at the island. 2:30 p.m. -- Free swimming at the Iroquois Park Pool. 7:30 p.m. -- Silent iln night at the activity centre, featur- ing Abbot and Costello, W. C. Fields and Laurel and Hardy. This is a new series of films provided by the Whitby Public Library. Tuesday, June 21: 9:45 a.m. -- Be at the activity centre for bus trip to Edwards Gardens, Toronto for a picnic. Box lunch is provided. 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. -- Annual Strawberry Tea at Fairview Lodge, sponsored by the Good Companions Club. 8 p.m. -- Pub night at the activity centre, with fish and chips supper and live enter- tainment. Wednesday, June 22: 1:30 p.m. -- Art exhibit at activity centre for seniors by seniors. There will be craft dernonstrations and partici- pation invited. Saturday, June 25: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. -- A Straw- berry Social will be given at St. Mark's Church House by the Whitby Seniors Co-operat- ing Club. 8 p.m. -- A festival party dance will be held at the activity centre with buffet supper and live entertain- nient. Seniors are reminded that they will be admitted free to all adult swims at the Iroquois Park Pool during the week of June 19 to 25.
