Those who received awards for 10 or more years of service were: Mrs. Mossie Everett (12 years), Mrs. Peg Horack (l 2 years); Mrs. Alice Catton,Mrs. Marie McLaughlin, Mrs. Ivedel Robettson, Mrs. Mary Town, and Mrs. Effie ACCORD aids seminar A cdoser co-operà tion between the various Chambers of Commercé in the Durham Region is expect- ed during 1977 through an organization known as ACCORD. EaÉly in 1976 the Chambers in the region got together forming a type of regional association. It was strongly stressed that this association of Chambers in no way would diminish the operations of local Chambers,, and there appears to be a very strong ground swell of interest at the varjous -local levels for a stronger representation of business through an improved Chamber orgahization. ACCORD (The Association of Chambers of Commerce of the Region of Durham) will meet on a monthly basis this year, with minutes of meet- ings beîng circulated to al direc tors. One of ACCORD's first projects is the co-sponsorship with Ontario Riding MP Norm Cafik, of an industrial seminar in Oshawa on March- 9, which is open to al businessmen in the region. Veronica Marr and Henry Perry hold the citations they received last week from the Whitby Branch of the Canadian Red Cross. Mrs. Mar received her award for'13 years of supporting the Red Cross through her school class in Whitby, and MIr. Perry received the citation on behalf of Branch 112 of the Royal Canadian Legion, which provides its hall for blood donor clinics.
