The Great Pine Ridge debating tournarnent held at Anderson Collegiate last Saturday saw the trophy for the best debating teamn awarded to - yes, the Anderson team! Apparently this highly. coveted prize is usually won by private sehool tearns who give first-rate presentations. However, this year Anderson was judged as the best. A team composed of the very best individual debaters (one only froni each school) will compete at MeMaster University later this month for the provincial trophy. Brooklin's own Elizabeth Greaves will represent Anderson. Keep up the good work Liz. We have heard fromi the Brooklin Broombaîl team and it seems that they are having one terrifie season. They have won fîfteen games, had eight shutouts and seven of their players are in the top ten scorers of the league. The league eonsists of six teains from Brooklin, Port Perry and nearby small communities. They play every Sunday in the new Port Perry arena - that must be why we hear so little about them. Too bad they eouldn't play in Brooklin some time; that garne can be great fun to watch. Are you tired of spending boring evenings at homne doing nothing - well have you thought about going down to Iroquois Park for a swim. lt's eheap, it's fun, it's great exereise - the pool is warm and neyer erowded if you go .1ater in the evening.
