Mary Louise Labarre, was presented with the Mayor's Medal for al-round leader- ship, and Kevin Roche recoived the Arthur O'Connor Famnily Award for Academie, Athieties and Leadership Achievemnent at Denis. O'Connor. Kevin, one of the school's 10 Ontario Seholars, also re- ceived the MeMaster Menit Award scholarship valued at $500.Debra Filo received the York University Entrance Scholarship for Acadernie Achievement, vlued at $660, and the Whitby Lions Club Grade 13 scholarship prize. The valedictorian, Fran Bardoel, was presented with the Anne Hendricks Award for outsta nding contribution to school spirit. The Denis O'Connor Ontario Scholars from 1976 were Allen Li, Eddie Tong, Ed Jetten, Alissa Ng, Kevin Roche, Debra Filo, Gerry Huinink, Eleanor O'Connor, Jessica Wong and David Kroekenstoel. Wilma Van Berkel was presented with the Outstand- ing Christian contribution award by the Denis O'Connor staff, Eddie Tong and Allen Li received the Andrew Founidation awards for highest standing in Grade 13, and Fran Doleweerd received the Andrew Foundation award for highest standing in Grade 12. Eddie Tong and Allen Li also received the Whitby Lions Club prizes for Grade 13 mathematics and science. Elizabeth Rochon received the Lions Club scholarship prize for Grade 12, Jane Van Hezewyk was presented with the Whitby Kinsmen prîze for Grade 13, Ed Jetten received the Rotary prize for Grade 13, and Eleanor O'Connor re- ceived the Kiwanis Club scholarship prize for Grade 13.
