The event, held at Whitby Senior Public School on Fri- day, covered ' competitive divisions from kindergarten to grade eight. Six awards were offered in each event. These young ladies won five medals in compulsory floor, two in beam, one in vault and one in optional floor. Coach Jim Higgs com- mended the girls on their three weeks of strenuous practice prior to the event. "The girls performed very close to their physical poten- tial", 'remarked the coach, "and this dedication resulted in their excellent perfor- mance". MR. Opening day Monday is reserved for people 13 years and under while those 14 and over get their first chacnce on Thursday, May 15. TIie skating sessions last from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. and the fee is $1.65 per pcrson which includes rentai of skates.
