FIURE Si ATERS READY FOR MIEET Whitby Figure Skating Club members are now busily practising Pr the "Pine Ridge Interclub Competi- ion" to be held at Iroquois Park Arena in Whitby, on, Sun- day, February 23. The Whitby Club is host- ing the al-day event which includes skaters from Ajax, Port Hope, Cobourg, New- castle, Orono, Oshawa, Port Perry, Bowmanville, Uxbridge and Whitby. The competi- tion consists'of '1O categories and each club is eligible to send its top three skaters in each category. Presentations will be made at the conclusfon of the com- petition at which. Urne gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to the skaters placing first, second and third in each category. The "Pine Ridge Competi- tion" is the first major.com- petition to be hosted by the Whitby Figure Skating Club. Whitby figure skaters need your support and encourage- ment on February 23, as they compete, hopefully for top honours. There may flot be any Karen Magnussens or Don Jack- sons in the Witby Figure Skating Club but the kids are tryning.
