The staternent came as a resuit of an inquiry by this paper which followed up a letter to the editor publishied last week. The letter charged that the library was using miembership cards. date due slips and seven-day notices prinited in thie United States. Whien contacted , Mrg. Hope-Brown verified and clarified the situation. She said that. in the past Brooklfin lias used cards printed by Bro-Dart ini Branlt- ford, Ontario. It is a Canad- ian subsidiary of an Amierican Comipany. Brooklin will continue to do so, until they run out of their current stock, at which tirne the cards, slips and notices will be printed by a Whitby printer. Tom Farquharson will take over the post, currently hield by H-arry "Taýnker" ioneCs, on January 1. Farquhiarson hielped to found the Whitby Yacht CIlub and the Witby Sailing School. He owned tlhe sailing Farquharson is a former mrember of the Oshawa Pow- er Squadron and a senior instructor for the Canadian Yachting Association.
