BAND TO SANTA WILL Students ta DDflVIDFE MUSIC STAY AT MALL mm% M WW m Umw-'m., - -- %IAIfc Musical entertainrnent with a Chistmas Theme wili be providcd at the Whitby Mail, Thickson Road and Highway 2, Whitby on Saturday, Dec. lst, by the Whtby Brass Band. The occasion is the arrivai of Santa Claus and a 'Speciai Guest' via Aston Helicopter of Oshawa. The band wiil assemble at the scene of the arrivai around 9:30 p.m. and wiil entertain the spectators with Christmas Carols and other topicai mu- sic for the occasion. Santa's arrivai wiii be heralded by the band swinging into 'Here Cornes Santa Claus' in order that everyone will be well aware of the final touch- down. Congratulations are in or- der for the Whitby Brass Band who have volunteered their services for this project. Down through the years, the band has brought a great many band has brought a great many honours to the town and with this current service are further emphasising the point that the town shouid be extremeiy proud of these first class musicians. Santa wiII arrive by Helicopter Santa Claus and his 'Special Guest' will arrive at the Whit- by Mail via Aston Helicopter of Oshawa on Dec. 1ist., The distinguished pair of guests will fly in from the North Pole and touch down on vacant land at the rear of the Mail buildings. During the day the visitors to the Mail wiIl have an opportunity of taking a ride to obtain a bird's eyc vîew of Whitby and the surround- ina vintrvsde, p A charae responsibiiity of the helicop- ter operators. The helicopter, a Bell 47, accomodating the pilot and two passengers, will remain on the site throughout the day. The Mail is anticipating a strong turn-out of parents and chiidren for this mom- entous occasion. In view of this, a St. John Ambulance, plus a contingent of attend- ants wiil be on the scene in case of possible injuries. .Attendants wiil circulate throughi the crowd and are prepared to offer first aid and medical assistance whcre and when nccessary.' Ail visitors attending the arrivaI of Santa Claus are requested to provide full co- operation for thc St. John Ambulance unit.
