(2 blocks south of-Taunton Rd.) 00 Çb SNOW MO BI LES' TOWN 0F WHITBY The following regulations apply with respect to drivers and owners of motorized snow vehicles In the Town of Whitby: (1) Motorized Snow Vehicle means a self propelled vehicle, designed to be driven exclusively on snow or'ice or bath. (2) Highway, includes a common and public highway, îÎreet, . avenue, parkway, bridge, driveway, plan, square, or trestle, designed and intended for or used by tue general public for the passage of vehicles. <3) Roadway means the part of the highway that is improved designed or ordinarily used for vehicular traff ic but does not include the shoulder. <4) The Operation of Motorized Snow Vehicles on the road- way of the Queen's Highways or %condary Highways wýe prohibited except that the vehicle may be operated6S the shoulder of the road as far away from the l-Ighway as is practicable under the circumnstances. This applies ta H-ighways 2, 7, and 12 in the Town of Whitby. There, is a total prohibition on H{ghway 401. (5) Vehicles are permitted on ail highways under the juriâ' diction of the Town of Whitby except vehicles mustbe driven on the right hand side of the road allowanoe'..andc in single file. The General Ru les of the Road which apply to Motor Vehicles also apply to Motorized Snow Vehicles,,,, but in every case the Snow Vehicle will give way ta thle Motor Vehicle. The operator of a Motorized Show Vehicle may cross a Highway at rig1it angles. <6) Vehicles are not permitted on sidewalks and other pro- perty intended for pedestrian use. <7) Vehicles are prohibited on aIl County or Suburban Roads in the Town of Whitby exceptto a member of a Police Force operating a Motorized Snow Vehicle or ta, persons operating such vehicles for emergency purposes or when roads are flot opened for use by normal vehicles for traffic or municipal purposes. The roads include Victo ria Street; Thickson Road; Rossland Road East from Cochrane Street to the Oshawa City Limits; Cochrane Street; Taunton Road; Anderson Street between Dundas Street and Rossland Road; Hopkins Street between Dun- das Street and North Service Rd., North Service Road between Hopkins Street and Thickson Road; Winchester Street, Brooklin; County Road No. 5 (A) between High- way No. 7 and the 8th Concession; and County Road No. 5 between the 8th and 9th Concessions. <8> Motorized Snow Vehicles are permitted in public parks except upon the roadways where vehicular use is pro- hibited and except in those areas where motorized snow vehicles are prohibited by signs or posters. Vehicles shalt not be driven in excess of 25 miles per hour in a park. 7 (9) No person shaîl drive a Motorized Snow Vehicle on private property without authority by the owner of such property and such person shail be subject to the penalties of the Petty Trespass Act. <10) No person shail drive a Motorized Snow Vehicle on a municipal property other than Town parks unless it is irrfndid y ne or more signs that such driving is
