The event will be organized by T-hunderbird Fleets 10 and 26 and will be hosted by the Whitby Yacht Club. Twenty - three boats have been entered in the Champ- ionships, with some compet- itors trailing their boats from as far away as Victoria BC, and Washington state in the The first World's Champ- ionships for Thunderbirds', a twenty - six foot racing sloop, was held about seven years ago in Seattle. Since then, World Championships have been held in San Diego, California, Sydney, Australia and Victoria, B.C.
