REPORT Constables McGregor and Whittick of the Whitby Police Force answered a cail to the Ontario Psychiatric Hospital at 3:20 p.m. on July 16th were they found Albert Lewis, 44, of 133 Bathurst St., Toronto in an intoxicated condition. He was searched and a haîf empty bottle of vodka was found on his person. Mr. Lewis pleaded guilty to the charge of having liquor in a place other than his residence. He was fined $100 or 20 days in jail. Provincial Court Judge H. W. Jermyn made the fine peremptory which means it had to be paid before leaving the Court Room or serve time in jail. The accused is on welfare in Toronto and only had $18 ini his pocket. He told the Court he would be receiving bis welfare cheque at the end of this month. William Roy Geary, 17, of 91 Elgin Street, Oshawa was fined $100 or 20 days in jail on the charge of driving with more than 80 mgm of alcohol per 100 mm of blood in his system. His drivers license was suspended by Provincial Court iudge H.W. Jermyn for six months which does not include the 'preemptory suspension' which is handed down by the Department of Transport and Communications. This suspension is for at least three months which would made a total suspension of the drivers' license for nine months. A false story about his brother being involved in a motor car accident brought an Oshawa youth into Court charged with dangerous driving. Gary L. Plowright, 19, of Kawartha Ave, was fined $200 or 20 days in jail on a charge of dangerous driving. His driver's license was mandatorily suspended for three months. He pleaded guilty to -the charge. Provincial Police Officer Lockridge of the Whitby Detacbment was on patrol on Highway 401 about 5:55 p.m. July 6th a very busy Friday evening when hie saw an eastbound motorcycle being driven at a high rate of speed and in a very erratic manner. He was cutting in and out of- travvic making more than 20 lane changes in a very unsafe manner as he went eastward to. Oshawa. He t 'urned off the highway at the Park Road exit ramp cutting in front of traffic and failing to stop at the exit He went northward on Park Road to Gibb Street at 60 mph cutting in and out of traffic passing the traffic by driving along the centre of the road. He went east on Gibb Street at 30 - 35 mph, going through a red light and continued eastward to Elm and Albert Street going through two stop signs. It was at this point that Provincial Police Constable Lockridge stopped the young man.
