WHITBY FREE PRESS, THURSDAY, MAY 24, 1973 KALNINS ON MYNAH BIRD Three weekls ago 1 met a fairly attractive (if not exactly beautiful) girl named Olah Çapp. Olah - in Latvian meaning an egg - is not the kind of girl you'd meet every day, say on Yonge street or at a social function. First of ail, she's very shy, aithough she is a manageress for à nudist club in Toronto. More specificaliy, Olah is partiy responsible for ail indoor activities at the new Mynah Bird, a first nudist club for swinging couples and single folk like me. The club was opened recently and operates on a mem- bership basis only. Three weeks ago (remember?) 1 -dropped in, so4-io speak without a formai invitation. Naturally, I intro- duced myself to this young lady who kept a rather suspicious eye on me. 1 told ber in my be 'st English that 1 was interested in doing a. story on the activities at this newly-formed nudist club. "Oh, yes we'lI have a press night"9, she intoned in ber sweet, innocent voice. But, ffrst do you have any proof that you work for a newspaper or magazine?" Indeed, 1 had plenty of proof. Proudly, 1 presented my press credentials. Needless to say, she was ini- pressed - but stili a bit skeptical. Finally, she pro- mised to mail me an invitation to "try out our friendly faciities". "That's great", 1 said. "How should 1 corne dressed for the occasion?" "Dressed?" she laughed. "You must be out of your mmnd!" Immediately, I reali7ed I'd said some- P and USE 0 Birthdov Sale____ ______ thing wrong. After a few uneasy moments, Olah assured ,me: "Don't you worry.' Everythiflg's going to be alright. Come as you'are - naked". And, after having said this, the manageress wanted to make it clear that 1 won't be excepted. Later on, I checked out the facts with, my reporter friend Joe Fisher of the Toronto Sun. ."Yup, that's-right, said Joe. "si'm faced with ýthe same ýprobiemn - disrobe or forget about the Mynah Bird."P It appears, now, that Joe Fisher is going to 'take it ail off' and join the nude set. I'm gettiiig a bit envious because by stripping, Joe is going to get the naked truth about the Mynah Bird and its skindippiflg activities. But, what bothers me really is that Toronto cabbies are getting ahead of me while I'm weighing the pros and cons of stripping. According to a recent report, Mr. Nude Cabbie Contest wili be held at the club. Shucks! At present, as I see it, I'm safe. No invitation bas reached my residence. But, what if they really decide' to mail one? Wili 1 be brave enough to accept the rules and regulations of tbis club? Weil, oniy time wili tell.
