Competitors num- bered seventy-eight in total, with the majority being in classes 'GI and 'Hl. Brian Smetaniuk brought his full race Corvalir from British Columbia to show us 'Easterners' how to go racing, and proceeded to do just that by turn ing the fastest time of the day! Former class champion Don Clement led the local entrants efforts by taking third place in 9HI in a Vega and backing this up by driving his Camaro to anot- her third in 'J' class. Don has not been very active in the regional solo events se r ies th is year, but now that he has added a s et of headers to that ai ready wild 228 motor, and a Iower rear-end gear ratio, I'm sure the Chevy wilI be produc ing enough bottom and middle range torque to put hlm back into the 'winner's circle'.
