With a screenplay by Jo Heims and Dean Riesner from a story by Miss Heims, the picture marks the directing debut for its star, Eastwood, who has p r ev i o u s ly been wearing two hats in other films. As well as starring in, he ha s be en production head of his own Mal pa so-Company for such films as Clint Eastwood, a disc jockey in Monterey, California, and Donna Mills, his romantic interest and an artist, look out to sea in one of the calmer moments of the chilling drama in Technicolor, "Play Misty For Me." The Universal-Malpaso Company picture also co-stars Jessica Walter and John Larch, and was directed by Eastwood. "The Beguiled", "Two Mules For Sis- ter Sara" and "Paint Your Wagon".
