Since the Liquor Act of 19 47 almost 400 Ontario municipal ities have voted in favaur of cocktail lounges and dining launges. Voting alang the Lake Ontaria front in r ecent yeans has folla wed the general trend. Most towns and cities wlthin a few minutes driving time of Whitby naw have lounge and dining lounge sale. These include Pickering, Pickering Township Ajax, Oshawa, Bowmanviî le, Part Penny and the-original Town of Whitby itself.
