The program will feature soloists and ensembles from the choir. Special guest trumpeter Norman Engel of Toronto's Tafel- musik orchestra, will be playing pieces from both baroque and jazz. The Durham Philhar- monic Choir is an audi- tioned 50-voice mixed choir dedicated to bringing the best of choral music to its audience. The choir is in its fourth season under the di- rection of Robert Phillips of Whitby. Phillips acts as or- ganist, choir director and music teacher. In the June 14 concert, the choir will perform a va- riety of music, including spirituals, folk-songs or Irish, Canadian and Ameri- can origin in addition to Broadway tunes of Gershwin, and choral ar- rangements by Lydia Ad- ams, 'John Rutter and others The concert will be held at the Salvation Army Temple on Thornton Road at Rossland on June 14 be- ginning at 7:30 p.m.. Tickets for the concert, titled From Gibbons to Gershwin are $12 general admission, $10 for seniors and students and $5 for children under 14 years.
