Clairlea team in the under 10 boys Rep Central Soccer League East Division ac- tion Tuesday May 20 in Scarborough. Whitby handled the ball well and played strong through the last 50 min- utes of the 60 game. Strong goal tending in the first Half by Christopher ·Sim and an equally impressive effort in the second half by Jonathan Sos proved to be too much for a frustrated Clairlea. Chris Sim proved his versatility by playing well as a right forward fill- ing in for an injured player for about 10 minutes in the second half. An early strong attack by the Clairlea forwards caught the Whitby boys by surprise resulting in an early goal and a one nil ad- vantage for Clairlea de- spite strong defensive efforts by Stefan Bonnici and Sweeper Bradley Wiggers. Whitby's first goal was scored as Gregory Sim- mons put it home in the top corner from 19 yards on a picture perfect cross by winger Christopher Justice. Clairlea made a lucky strike on a Wolverine mis- cue and took the lead prior to half. Mark Mizzi scored Whit- by's second goal, working with Justin Hill and Greg Simmons. Chris McGrath came off; the bench after an injury to score the go ahead goal on a tip in off a Greg Simmons Pass.
