- Willard Dodd was born at Chapleau, Ontario in 1902.He moved to Whitby in 1950 from Kingston to become the district manager for the Empire Life Insurance Company. He retired in 1959 after 40 years of service.
Dodd was a member of Whitby Town Council from 1953-1959 and vice president of the Whitby Chamber of Commerce. Other organizations he was involved with include: Whitby Centennial Committee, Whitby Community Chest, Whitby Red Cross, Cancer Society, Kiwanis Club, Whitby Curling Club, and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 112, Whitby.
Dodd died at Oshawa on 25 April 1965 and is buried in Mount Lawn Cemetery. - Date of Original
