- Alexander Sinclair was born at the Hall farm in Almonds, Whitby Township on 19 September 1854, the youngest son of Margaret and William Sinclair.
He moved with his family to Glenrath farm at lot 18, Broken Front Concession in 1860 where he farmed until 1929. Alexander died at the home of his niece in Whitby on 2 June 1934. He is buried at Union Cemetery in Oshawa.
