- Black and white photograph c. 1898 of Miss Josephine M. Thornton (1852-1941). Josephine M. Thornton, the seventh daughter of Rev. Robert Hill Thornton, the first Presbyterian minister in Whitby Township, was born in Whitby Township, Canada, West, on November 23, 1852. She died in Toronto, Ontario on May 19, 1941. She is buried at Union Cemetery, Oshawa.
