- Black and white photograph, C. 1865 of Margaret Thompson. Born in Edinbugh, Midlothian, Scotland in 1814.
She was married at Edinburgh on April 15, 1833, to Rev. Robert Hill Thornton, who had been called to Whitby Township, Upper Canada, to be the Township's first Presbyterian minister. They sailed immediately after their marriage and lived in a house near Oshawa Union Cemetery, on Kingston Road. They had a family of 10 children. Mrs. Thornton died at Oshawa, Ontario, Canada on February 9, 1874 and is buried at Union Cemetery, Oshawa. - Date of Original
