- William Wallace was born at Timmins, ON in 1938. He served in the administrative branch of the Royal Canadian Air Force in Timmins from 1956 to 1961. From 1961 to 1965 he worked as Deputy Clerk and Executive Assistant to the Administrator of Timmins.
After moving to Whitby, Wallace became the Clerk of Whitby from 1968 to 1976, Clerk-Administrator from 1976 to 1980, and Administration from 1980 to 1999 when he retired.
Wallace was a Director of the Whitby Chamber of Commerce from 1972 to 1976, Director of Trafalgar Castle School, member of the Whitby Rotary Club, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Whitby General Hospital, and Chairman of the Whitby General Hospital Foundation. In 1989, he was awarded the Peter Perry Award as Whitby's Outstanding citizen. - Date of Original
