My mother grew up in Whitby, on Brock St. S., across from the park where the band shelter was (or is?). Her maiden name was Mary Joan MacLean. I have a watercolour painting of this structure. She had said it depicted a store in her home town. After a bit of sleuthing - voila - so it is! I believe the artist was Molly Greene Mitchell. How do I go about obtaining a photo so I can save the next generation some footwork?
