- Rev. Walter M. Roger was born at Aberdeenshire, Scotland on 31 December 1839. His family moved to Peterborough where his father was a pioneer Presbyterian minister.
Walter Roger graduated from the University of Toronto in 1862 and took his theological studies at Knox College, Toronto and New College in Edinburgh, Scotland. He was inducted and ordained at Knox Presbyterian Church in Perth, ON in 1866.
From 1868 to 1871, he was minister at Petrolia, ON and operated some French Canadian Missions from 1871-1873. From 1874-1884, Roger was minister at Burns' Presbyterian Church in Ashburn after which he transfered to King Street Presbyterian Church in London, ON. He became president of the London Ministerial Association. - Date of Original
