- Black and white negative showing Bill Lawler (centre)of Whitby presenting a portrait of his great-grandfather, James Rowe (1799-1869), the first mayor of Whitby, to the current Mayor, Harry Jermyn. The presentation took place the Town Hall.
James Rowe became the first mayor of Whitby in 1855.
