Notes
The Brooklin Spring Fair was initiated by the South Ontario County Agricultural Association, a group of farmers and businessmen in the Township of Whitby that also operated the Oshawa Fair. The first fair, lasting one day, was held at Grass Park on 24 May 1911. By 1915, the Brooklin Spring Fair became independent of the SOCAA.

In 1913, fair moved to the Vipond Farm where it continued until 1925. At that time admission costs were 25 cents for adults and 10 cents for children. In 1926, the fair relocated to Brooklin Community Park, the current site of the fair.

By about 1935, the fair occurred over two days on the first weekend in June. The early fair consisted of shows of light and heavy horses, beef and dairy cattle, races, and sports.

The construction of Brooklin Memorial Arena in 1948 allowed the addition of many new classes and events such as preserves, canning, baking, crafts, sewing, and a horticulture show.

Since 1975, the fair has encompassed the first Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in June. In 1976, the Miss Brooklin Spring Fair Pageant crowned its inaugural queen, Sharon Rice.

In 2011, the fair will celebrate its 100th anniversary making it one of the oldest agricultural fairs in Canada.
