Notes
Luther Ernest Vipond was born at Brooklin on 20 September 1914. He played for the Brooklin Intermediate Lacrosse Club from 1930 until it folded in 1942. During the Second World War, he served with the Nova Scotia Highlanders and took part in the D-Day invasion in Normandy in 1944.

After the war, he played lacrosse with the Toronto Lakeshores senior team, the Mimico Mountaineers, and the Oshawa lacrosse team. He was a player and coach for Brooklin throughout the 1950s.

When the Brooklin Memorial Arena opened in 1949, Luther was appointed arena manager and he served in this position until his retirement in 1979. He died at Sunnybrook Medical Centre at Toronto on 24 May 1982 following a car accident in Ashburn on 3 May.

The Brooklin Memorial Arena was renamed the Luther Vipond Memorial Arena on 14 November 1982. He is buried in Groveside Cemetery near Brooklin.
