- Notes
- John Metz Schneider worked in a button factory in Kitchener until, being laid off with an injured hand, he began making sausages in his home. Three years later he purchased a retail store next to his home on Courtland Avenue in Kitchener. J.M eventually took his four sons into the business and it was named J.M. Schneider & Sons Limited. Schneider was born on February 17, 1859 and died on February 23, 1942.
