- First original wood frame church building at King and Bridgeport Road (formerly Cedar and Laurel Street)constructed in 1837. The structure was torn down and the land sold to the federal government in 1882, and this second larger, brick church was constructed.
This building was destroyed by fire on November 2, 1959, and another church built on Willow Street between 1961 and 1962.
Reverend Bockelmann was Pastor of St. John's from 1906 to 1923.
