- "Kitchener-Waterloo Record" article of October 31, 1975 notes that Edward F. Seagram was captain of the Waterloo Intermediate Ontario Hockey Association team in 1898. His brother Joseph J. Seagram also played on the team.
In 1897, intermediate level was introduced in the Ontario Hockey Association. This was to organize teams of a lower standard than the seniors.
