LENNOX LEWIS BIOGRAPHY Lennox Lewis was born September, 1965 in London England ° Jamaican parents. He immigrated to Canada with his mother in Lennox began amateur boxing at 12 years of age at The Water. Regional Police Association Boxing Club where he was coached by late"Hook" Mc Comb and his present coach Arnie Boehm. After winning Provincial Junior Titles, he won Provinci National Intermediate Championships. He next won The Canadia Winter Games Gold Medal and in November 1983 became the only | ever to win a World Junior Amateur Boxing Championship. (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, November 1983) He was named Sports Federation of Canada Athlete of the M November, 1983 and aiso Junior Male Athelete of The Year (unde 1983. ie He attended Cameron Heights Collegiate Institute where h team which won The All-Ontario Championship (1983). As a senior superheavy weight he won The Canadian Amateu Championship in 1984, 1985 and 1986. On the Olympic Team in 1984 Lennox won one bout and lost second bout to the eventual Gold Medalist Tyrell Biggs of t In 1985 he won the North American Championship and then t Silver Medal in The World Cup (Seoul, Korea, November 1985). the 1986 Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh, Scotland he won t Medal and also won another Gold Medal at the Stockholm, Swe Boxing Open, defeating the Swedish Champion and stopping the Champion in the third round. Futhermore in March 1987 he wo Canadian Championship held in New Brunswick.
