For many people, and es- pecially for those young at heart, the most anticipated event of the season is clear -- Halloween, Explore Water- loo Region shared in a press release. To get into the spirit of Halloween, the weeks leading up to the big day are usually filled with pumpkin carving, costume shopping and watching scary movies, but this year Waterloo Re- gion has even more Hallow- een events to enjoy. From family-friendly activities to scream-inducing attractions and cult-classic traditions, there is truly something for everyone to enjoy this au- tumn. Here are some of the fun- filled fall activities Waterloo Region has to offer: 1. Family Fun at Sny- der's Farm (936685 Blen- heim Rd, Bright, Ont.) -- Open each weekend in Octo- ber, Snyder's Farm offers classic farm attractions like hayrides, a corn maze, haunted house, animal barnyard and more. This outdoor, physically dis- tanced experience also in- cludes a licensed patio and a bakery serving delicious food and drinks. 2. Go thrill-seeking at Bingemans Screampark (425 Bingemans Centre Dr., Kitchener) -- This is one horrifying walk -- and there are zero ways to pre- pare for the fear! With six terrifying attractions like the Dead Marsh and Shiver- ing Woods, Screampark is sure to leave you shaking in your shoes (not recom- mended for children under 12). Screampark is open Thursday through Sunday from now until Oct. 31. 3. Take a ride on Water- loo Central Railway's Sunday Dayliner (50 Isa- bella St., St. Jacobs) -- If haunted houses and corn mazes aren't for you, this round-trip train journey is the perfect alternative. The 60-minute ride takes you from the Village of St. Jacobs to the Town of Elmira through beautiful farming landscape with scenic views of the changing fall colours. The Dayliner offers two rides every Sunday after- noon in October. 4. Explore the Fear Farm -- Snyder's Farm (936685 Blenheim Rd, Bright, Ont.) may offer family fun during the day, but once the sun goes down the farm becomes a fright! The Fear Farm features four haunting attractions as well as eats, treats and a licensed patio. Open weekend eve- nings after 6:45 p.m. 5. Take in the St. Ja- cobs Pumpkin Parade (1441 King St. N., St. Ja- cobs) -- Pick up a free pumpkin in the Village of St. Jacobs, take it home and carve it, and then bring it back to line the streets Oct. 29 and 30. Wear a costume when you come back to the village to see all the jack-o- lanterns and you could win prizes! 6. Attend the Spirit Season fundraiser at Ho- mer Watson House (1754 Old Mill Rd., Kitchener) -- This spooky fundraiser runs for the last three week- ends in October and offers a variety of different events, including psychic readings with a medium, an authentic ghost hunt, workshops and an immersive séance- themed adventure. All pro- ceeds go towards supporting the Homer Watson House and Gallery's mission to pro- vide accessible arts educa- tion, exhibitions and events in the community. 7. Catch a screening of the Rocky Horror Picture Show at Princess Cine- mas (46 King St. N., Wa- terloo) -- Rocky Horror at the Princess has been a Hal- loween tradition for more than 30 years! Guests are en- couraged to dress up and do the time warp again with this iconic musical, which is being screened each night from Oct. 27 through Oct. 31.
