Here's what Sean Rae Pambid has to say: "Moving countries twice (from the Philippines), I have no- ticed that it's mostly the older generation that tend to have a more ignorant view of other rac- es. And I feel like that creates a lack of empathy that inspire no- tions set in insensitivity. Unfortunately, I believe it's too late for most of them to change ... those prejudice beliefs and have only been suppressed by societal pressures with the re- cent movements and use of social media that show that kind of be- haviour. But, what we can do is to educate the younger generation. I am an immense believer in education and what we lack to teach our children at home should be taught in school or in other mediums. If their child- hood or even the entire time they spent in achieving an education would have certain classes, or courses that focus on under- standing the history of racism and it's impacts toward society, along with teaching them how to have better relationships with people, I think will be extremely helpful. If we are rooted in acceptance, tolerance, and understanding, we could create a world where racism will not grow and be en- couraged." Your Voice Against Racism is a campaign that aims to shine a spotlight on diverse and margin- alized communities in a series of photo essays discussing diversi- ty and inclusion and social jus- tice with a goal of creating change in our communities.
