The Applicant is proposing to amend the City's Zoning Bylaw No. 2018-050 by rezoning the lands at 319, 337 and 343 Woolwich Street from 'Zone Change Application' (ZC) to 'Conservation' (OS3), 'Residential Four' (R4) and 'Residential Eight' (R8) with site specific provisions. The Residential Eight (R8) site specific provisions would include reduced interior lot line setbacks, reduced rear yard setbacks, reduced private road setbacks and permission for one townhouse building to contain 7 units. This application is being advance to redevelop the subject property with eight (8) single detached lots fronting onto Woolwich Street and 16 townhouse units to be located behind the single detached dwellings with a single driveway access to Woolwich Street. This meeting shall constitute the formal public meeting required under Section 34 of The Planning Act, R.S.O., 1990, as amended. The shooter specifically chose spas run by Asian women. The motive is clear as crystal to anyone who has ever been singled out for who they are. Yet somehow, people are still debating if this was a 'hate-motivated' crime. Just to clarify, murder is never committed out of love. And premeditated murder against a random group of strangers, chosen simply because of their identity is definitely com- mitted out of hate. I hope I have made my stand on this amply clear right at the out- set. I am reading some comment threads on the news story and seeing people argue over the 'technicality' of the crime. There are questions that are swimming around cyberspace, like: "Should this even come under the purview of racism?" And "Does the shooter's confession validate any race motive?" and "Wasn't this about a sex ad- diction?" I am at loss for words. The victims were selected as targets, be- cause of their gender and their race. As a visible, Muslim woman, I promise you, that gendered racism is real. But this is not about me.
