The intent of the program is to provide cash grants to support grassroots organizations and community projects that encourage participation in any of the following funding categories: Recreation and Sports, Arts & Culture, Festivals & Events, Neighbourhoods The maximum amount of funding available for either an operating or a project grant is $5000. Requests in excess of $5000 for either an operating or a project grant will not be considered. Organizations may apply for both an operating and a project grant for a total maximum amount of $10,000. (Professionally reviewed financial statements are required for requests over $7500) The community cash grants policy,which includes the eligibility guidelines, and the cash grant application are now available. You can also register for an online workshop to learn how to submit a successful application. These community plantings empower neighbours to build community while establishing trees that shade playgrounds, seating and trails, supports pollinators like bees, butterflies and birds and expands our urban forest. Thanks to Lincoln Heights neighbourhood group, Beechwood West I Homes Association and Glasgow Heights II Homeowner's Association for hosting a community planting in Roselea Park, McCrae Park and Stonehaven Park. The City of Waterloo gratefully acknowledges the financial support of the Community Environmental Fund administered by the Region of Waterloo. The new Specific Provision Area policies will serve as a Block Plan for the subject lands.
