"Our hearts break to share this difficult news," the message states. Abe Erb operated a restaurant on King Street North. Rob and Tony Theodosiou were the principals behind the business that put its own unique spin on the craft brew craze in uptown Waterloo. No one from the company immediately responded to questions from the Chronicle Tuesday morning. In its Facebook post Abe Erb indicated that "challenging circumstances" prevailed. Similar to most businesses, restrictions due to COVID-19 had resulted in full and temporary closures of locations in Water- loo region and Guelph in recent months. The company also has an outstanding appeal against the Region of Waterloo with the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal relat- ed to former LRT construction, which the business said caused it to suffer losses due to construction delays. According to an order issued back in 2018, the claim against the City of Waterloo was dismissed, however according to a representative with LPAT earlier this year, parties to the appeal, including the Region of Waterloo, informed tribunal that they were continuing to prepare the necessary reports and exchange material in prepara- tion for a hearing.
