Did you receive your 2020 interim property tax bill? A post to social media threatening a shooting on the Wilfrid Laurier Univer- sity campus has led to the arrest of an 18-year-old stu- dent. The post was made by a man on Thursday. The so- cial media site flagged the post and contacted the RCMP, said Const. Andre Johnson, with Waterloo Regional Police. An investigation was launched by Waterloo Re- gional Police, the RCMP and Wilfrid Laurier Spe- cial Constable Service, who together were able to identify and locate the stu- dent. An arrest was made off campus on Friday in the ar- ea of University Avenue and King Street in Water- loo. "The university has is- sued a trespass notice that prohibits the individual from being on Laurier property," the university said in a statement. Police do not believe there are any credible threats to public safety.
