The full details of what happened to CJ are still un- known. According to the property owner in an inter- view with The Record, CJ and a female friend left the party area and went down the Otter River, where he drowned. The river is only six feet deep, so it creates a lot of questions for Moore. Moore and CJ's father, from whom she is three years separated, have an appointment with an OPP officer next week with the aim of gathering more in- formation about their son's death. Moore has found com- fort in hearing from her son's friends, who reflect on how much he helped them. During the visita- tion, she was approached by a young man who claimed CJ was the reason he got through basic train- ing for the Canadian Armed Forces. He gave her his graduation medallion as a memento. When it comes to run- ning again, Moore said she's conscious of how it will look to the public. "If I don't talk about him, there will be people ques- tioning that," said Moore, adding that if she goes too far the other way, it could reflect poorly as well. "I want to talk about CJ as much as I can. The more you talk about someone who's gone, the more they stay alive." DETAILS ABOUT SON'S DEATH STILL UNKNOWN Continued from page 21 Janice Moore, whose son CJ died in mid-August, has decided that she will still run for Waterloo council in Ward 2. Metroland photo NEWS
