If the valve is located in your driveway and a repair is necessary, it will likely require excavating an area around the valve. An unsightly patch in your brand-new driveway could result if you do not call for an inspection! If an excavation in a paved driveway cannot be avoided, we will patch the area to the highest standard. However, we will not replace the entire driveway. Please call us three weeks prior to paving your driveway so that we may inspect any valve(s) that may be present. Do not assume your driveway contractor will arrange this! Many times they don't. Call before you pave 519-886-2310 ext 30239 PLANNING ON GETTING YOUR DRIVEWAY PAVED? Please call us first! There are approximately 2500 fire hydrants within the City and all fire hydrants are inspected annually. This program is designed to ensure that our hydrants will operate properly when needed. Due to the complexity of the program, it is difficult to determine which day testing will be conducted in a specific area. Hydrant operation may cause some temporary inconveniences such as poor water pressure and in some cases coloured water. Please check your water before use and if discoloured water is detected, please open a cold, hard water tap (non-softened water) and allow the water to run for 5 minutes. If it does not clear, turn it off, wait one hour and let it run another 5 minutes. Continue to do this until it is clear. Thank you for your co-operation and understanding. Any questions or concerns should be directed to the Utilities Customer Service Representative at 519-886-2310 ext 30239. The National Basket- ball League of Canada team, which announced the signing Thursday in a news release, now has two homegrown players signed for the 2018-19 sea- son that starts in mid-No- vember. Tramar Suther- land re-upped the team earlier this summer, leav- ing three vacancies to be filled before now and the start of the team's third season. "As a talented Canadi- an guard, Ashton brings a high level of experience and toughness to our backcourt," said Titans head coach Cavell John- son. "As a former team- mate of mine, I saw first- hand how passionate and focused Ashton is about his craft. He's a great teammate and is someone I can rely on to be a leader defensively, while being an aggressive playmaker on the offensive end." The six-foot-two, 190- pound Smith is a Scarbor- ough native and a former NCAA Division 2 all- American at Indiana Uni- versity of Pennsylvania. He is entering his sixth season of professional bas- ketball, playing in Colom- bia, Germany, Indonesia, Canada and the United States during his time with the Raptors 905 of the NBA G-League in 2015-16. He most recently played for the London Lightning, which won the NBL of Canada championship in May, and is a former team- mate of Johnson and Ti- tans forward Flenard Whitfield. "I'm excited to be a Ti- tan and reunite with my former teammates," said Smith. "Flen (Whitfield) and I have become broth- ers over these past few years, so I can't wait to go to battle together this sea- son. Cavell was always a great leader on and off the floor, and I understand the level of intensity he de- mands on the defensive end. I'm ready to be that defensive dog and play- maker for my teammates, and do everything I can to make us a contender." The Titans will gather for training camp in mid to late October.
