Silver Lake is a unique element that has provided a recreational amenity and a picturesque aesthetic for the park since 1890, making it a central feature of the City of Waterloo. As the community around the park has grown, so have the services to Waterloo Park and the impacts on its features. The study to rehabilitate Silver Lake and Laurel Creek is following the requirements under the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment process. Public information centre #3 is being held to present the results of the detailed evaluation process, and the identified recommended solution. Alternative solutions to rehabilitate Silver Lake and Laurel Creek and the evaluation process was presented at public information centre #2 in December 2017. Members of the public are invited to learn more about the recommended solution, ask questions, and provide input prior to confirming the final solution. City staff and members of Stantec and CH2M HILL will be available to answer questions, and to receive input and comments from interested members of the community.
